Don’t Be a “Debbie Downer” When it Comes to Your Job Search

No argument here…it can be a monumental task.  There are a number of articles on the benefits and importance of remaining positive in the job search from a psychological perspective.  Today, I want to share a blog  from Dan Zarrella that has some solid statistics on what negativity won’t get you when trying to attract attention through social media.  In short, don’t be a “Debbie Downer.”  While he’s focused on social media (and Twitter in particular), it’s solid advice that’s as relevant for offline networking as it is online.

Also, check out his “cocktail party” analogy.  It’s something I’ve been saying for years and think it’s a great gauge for determining your boundaries when using social media.
